Puppet Artist Risa Lenore is thrilled to offer a variety of puppet workshops. These workshops are for: work events, communities interested in expanding their creative skill sets, as school residencies or workshops and for parties.
Risa provides all the materials and creates a warm and supportive environment for you to engage with your imagination and delight in the company of others!
Most materials are scrounged from reuse stores.

Rod Puppets Workshop
Using a variety of techniques Risa guides participants in the creation of a simple rod puppet. In this workshop, we sculpt, design character and time allowing, work on puppet manipulation.
This workshop is best for ages 8 and up due to its use of hot glue. Adults only workshops are so fun!
3+ hours. $250 minimum. Rates vary depending on number of participants and distance travelled.

Toy Theatre
This workshop guides participants in the creation of their own toy theatre, a popularized art form dating back to the 19th century in England. We make stages, sets, and stories to perform for our companions.
Ages 8 and up. 3+ hours. $250 minimum

Jointed Paper Puppets
This workshop is designed for children ages 7-14. Risa guides the children in the creation of a jointed paper puppets and character development. This workshop exercised creative literacy muscles and motor skills in classroom environments. Can be taught in conjunction with a collage workshop. 1+ hour for jointed paper puppets. $150 minimum. Collage Mouth Puppets
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle beautiful images into collage mouth puppets. Risa brings an incredible library of images to guide participants in the creation of original characters.
These mouth puppets are a hoot!
ages 4-6 with an adult, best for ages 7 and up. Again, Adult only workshops are a delight!
$250 minimum.

Playfilled Collage
Great as an intro to collage! This workshop invites participants to expand their imagination and create new creatures from the carefully curated library of images provided by Risa. Creatures can be turned into puppets or remain as 2d images.
Ages 4-6 with adult supervision. Best for ages 7+. $250 minimum.
